Rapid ROI guaranteed – the eoil-Systemplus in commercial vehicles

Vogler Fleisch, a family-owned business based in Steine, Germany, is one of the country’s five largest independent meat-processing companies, employing some 550 people. Back in 2003, the company converted its fleet of delivery vehicles to run on vegetable oil, significantly reducing its fuel costs. However, the two-tank system (with separate tanks for diesel and vegetable oil) that it initially chose suffered from a number of technical problems, and it also made life difficult for drivers, as there was a lot for them to remember.

Fortunately, all that changed in 2005, when the company switched to the one-tank eoil-Systemplus, a solution that promised to be both more reliable and easier for drivers to use. “Drivers no longer need to remember to switch their vehicles to diesel mode before turning off the engine at the end of the day, says Vogler Fleisch’s managing director Michael Vogler. “This means that damage caused by user error is virtually eliminated.

The company quickly decided to phase in the eoil-Systemplus on all its vehicles. The main reason for doing so was economic. “Our vehicles each do an average of 140,000 kilometres a year, and so the eoil system had paid for itself within six months, says Vogler. All four of the company’s refrigerated lorries now run on vegetable oil, and the ten new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks that the company recently purchased came with the eoil Sytstemplus already fitted.

Retrofitting of the eoil-Systemplus on the company’s existing fleet of DAF and Mercedes-Benz vehicles took place at the eoil factory in Alfeld. Vogler Fleisch also stands to benefit from the cooperation agreement that eoil recently signed with Mercedes-Benz, as the truck manufacturer now offers a four-year drive-train warranty on all its vehicles retrofitted with eoil technology.
